The Nigerien president Issoufou crowned "champion of industrialization in Africa":
On November 20, the President of the Republic, HE Issoufou Mahamadou, was crowned champion of the industrialization of Africa, in recognition of his contribution to the economic integration of the continent. It was during a high-level session held via videoconference on the occasion of the celebration of Africa's industrialization week. The initiators of this distinction are the African Union Commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
This Sunday the diaspora votes for the first time:
Tomorrow, November 22, 2020, Burkinabè living abroad and registered on the electoral rolls, will be able to participate in the double ballot: presidential and legislative. The National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) has counted a total of 18,563 voters who have been registered on the electoral roll, a figure far from the 2 million potential voters. For the opposition, this low turnout is justified by the hassles imposed during voter registration, including the nature of the documents to be provided.
Partners will invest $15 million in the fisheries and aquaculture sector:
ECOWAS chaired a meeting between stakeholders in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in Mali on November 18 and 19. At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the sub-regional organization indicated that Mali will receive $15 million in funding from its partners, as yet unidentified.
Huawei ICT Competition winners receive awards:
During the awards ceremony of the Huawei ICT Competition Senegal which brought together more than 1270 students in the field of ICT from different schools across Senegal, an increase of 40% compared to last year. Despite the context marked by the Covid-19 and its consequences, Huawei and its team ensured the proper conduct of the exams which were held online to ensure the security and protection of students.
