Uganda:
The USA is asking for an investigation into the last elections:
U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price is calling for an investigation into last January's presidential election in Uganda. The purpose of this procedure would be to determine the responsibility of the defense forces in the abuses orchestrated against the opposition candidates. "We will consider a range of targeted options to hold members of the security forces accountable for these actions," Price said.

Cameroon:
Cameroon has successfully experimented with the teaching of national languages in 43 multilingual schools:
Fatime Bilamo, Director of Literacy, Non-Formal Basic Education and Promotion of National Languages at the Ministry of Basic Education (Minedub) expresses her satisfaction in an interview with the daily Cameroon tribune: "We can conclude, in the light of the results of the diagnostic evaluation of the school performance of the students in these experimental schools, that the results are satisfactory."

Mali:
New postponement of the trial of the ex-putschist Amadou Sanogo:
The next hearing in the trial against Amadou Haya Sanogo will be held on March 11, 2021, according to the Bamako Assize Court. The ex-putschist, president of the National Committee for the Restoration of Democracy and the Restoration of the State, is being prosecuted, along with others, for the crimes of kidnapping and murder, or complicity in these crimes.


Cameroon:
Cameroon wants to build a second bridge of nearly 60 billion CFA francs on the Dibamba:
After the second bridge over the Wouri River in the city of Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, the Ministry of Public Works is currently fine-tuning a project to build a second bridge over the Dibamba River, according to official documents consulted by Invest in Cameroon. Although the characteristics of this infrastructure are not revealed, we know from good sources that it will cost 58.8 billion CFA francs. The financing should be made available by Standard Chartered Bank London, according to sources. The 2nd bridge over the Dibamba River will be built by the Canadian company Magil, as an extension of the development work on the eastern entrance to the city of Douala.


Niger:
The home of RFI's correspondent vandalized and partly burned down:
In Niger, the home of Moussa Kaka, RFI's local correspondent, was vandalized and partially burned on Thursday, December 26. "They broke everything, they set fire to it," said Moussa Kaka to AFP. The events occurred in the context of the unrest following the opposition's challenge to the results of the presidential elections.
