Growth of nearly 7% recorded at the end of September: Port activity remains as resilient as ever:
Despite the crisis due to the Covid-19, the traffic transiting through the ports shows a solid growth during this period. In September 2020 alone, port activity rose by 8%, recording a volume of 8 million tons. According to the latest statistics from the National Ports Agency, port traffic is up 6.9% during the first nine months of 2020 generating a total volume of 70.5 million tons (MT). During the last five years, the annual rate of change in traffic is 4%. By way of comparison, the activity of the ports managed by the ANP during the first nine months of 2019 was more than 65.96 MT compared to 64.22 MT at the end of September 2018, 62.47 MT at the end of September 2017 and 58.04 MT at the end of September 2016...
