Facebook launches a news feed called "News":
Accused of spreading misinformation, Facebook announced on Friday the launch of a news feed in partnership with media outlets, aimed at promoting professional journalism and restoring the image of the world's leading social network. "I have been discussing with media outlets and journalists for several years how we can support quality journalism on Facebook," said Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg, announcing the new feed called "Facebook News". Facebook News aims to give people "more control over the articles they see and the ability to explore a wider range of interests, directly through the Facebook application," the California group explained. It will "highlight the main news of the day," while focusing on "entertainment, health, economy, sport," four themes that Facebook users have expressed particular interest in.


AFD launches the fourth edition of its Digital Challenge:
Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has just announced the launch of the fourth edition of its Digital Challenge, a competition of startups and digital innovations to promote the development of sustainable cities in Africa. "This competition is aimed at startups, associations and research centres on the African continent that offer innovative solutions to stimulate local economic development, facilitate exchanges between authorities and citizens, improve the management of urban services and planifier the city for the most vulnerable," the Agency said in a statement.
